With over 40 ships at our direct disposal, barging and brokerage is one of Peterson Control Union’s core activities.

Obviously, Peterson Control Union is represented on the ground in the main ports in the ARAG range, but in order to guarantee clients the best possible service, we also provide barging services through our inland offices and agents in various countries throughout Europe.

Intranet Scheduling

Making optimum use of ships’ cargo capacities is paramount to success in this industry and, therefore, all our offices and agents have direct access to our intranet. On it, planners get up-to-the-minute information on ships’ capacities, volumes and sailing schedules, which they use to maximise throughput and keep lead times to an absolute minimum.

Complex Logistics Services

Peterson Control Union offers you a specialised fleet of ships for the carriage of powder products, such as fly-ash, slag, limestone and cement. In addition, together with a number of industry partners, we operate a pool of 16 ships for animal feed cargos. Peterson charters the ships, conducts planning activities and arranges extra capacity when needed. As a result, we are in a position to specialize in complex logistic services such as the door-to-door transport of bulk cargoes, including mixing programmes and storage.

Plain Barge Brokering

Besides all these complex services, Peterson acts as a plain barge broker. We provide sufficient barge capacity when sea-going vessels enter port, enabling swift unloading, directly into barges. We also provide capacity when barges are needed for transport from silo; assure that the barges have the right cargo programme, such as GMP or VIHB, and we provide an LCI on the barge.
